Frequently Asked Questions

Everything below is how this actually works, including the parts that are less flattering. If something is not answered here, ask us and we will add it.

Questions homeowners ask

Is this a lawn care company?

No. We are a free matching service for Chesterfield County. We show you what your lawn should cost, then connect you with one vetted local provider. You hire and pay them directly.

How much does the service cost me?

Nothing. Providers pay us for the introduction. You pay your provider directly at the price the two of you agree on, and there is no markup added to their rate.

How accurate is the estimate?

It is built from your parcel's actual turf area in Chesterfield County records and the rates our providers charge. Most confirmed quotes land inside the range. If yours does not, tell us and we re-match you.

Where does my lot size come from?

Chesterfield County GIS parcel records. We pull the deeded acreage and the building footprint, subtract the house and driveway, and estimate the turf area from what is left. You can adjust it before you submit.

Do I have to give my phone number to see a price?

No. The price range appears before we ask for anything. Contact details are only needed if you want to be matched with a provider.

Who will contact me?

One named provider, shown to you by name before you submit. Never a list of companies, never a lead marketplace, never five trucks calling in an hour.

How fast will they call?

Within four business hours. That is a condition of being in the network, it is measured, and providers who miss it are paused.

Will you sell my information?

No. One provider receives it, and they sign an agreement not to resell or share it. We do not sell data to marketplaces or anyone else.

Can I ask for a different provider?

Yes. Tell us and we match you with another company at no cost, for any reason at all.

What areas do you cover?

Chesterfield County and nearby: Midlothian, Chester, Bon Air, Moseley, North Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Brandermill, Woodlake, plus South Richmond, Hopewell, Powhatan, Prince George and Ettrick-Matoaca.

What if I am outside your service area?

The estimator still prices your lot so you know what is fair, but we will tell you plainly that we do not have a provider there rather than matching you with someone two counties away.

How much does lawn mowing cost in Chesterfield?

A typical quarter-acre lot runs about $45 to $65 per weekly visit, roughly $195 to $280 a month in season. Bigger lots and wooded lots price differently, which is what the estimator works out.

Is weekly or biweekly mowing cheaper?

Per visit, weekly is cheaper, because there is less growth to cut. Per month, biweekly costs less overall. Biweekly visits typically run about 15 percent more each.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Not with us. Whatever agreement you reach is between you and your provider, and most Chesterfield companies work month to month with no cancellation fee.

When should I aerate and overseed in Virginia?

Between August 20 and October 15, with September the best window. Spring aeration and seeding fails most years here because the seedlings hit July heat with shallow roots.

What kind of grass do I have?

Almost certainly turf-type tall fescue if your lawn is green in April and November. If it goes tan from November through April, it is bermuda or zoysia, which runs on a different schedule entirely.

Do your providers carry insurance?

Yes. General liability certificates are on file and re-verified annually, and anyone matched for fertilization or weed control also holds VDACS commercial applicator certification.

Can you handle commercial or HOA properties?

Yes. Use the contact form with the property details rather than the residential estimator, since commercial work prices on a site visit.

Do you do landscaping, irrigation or tree work?

Not through the estimator. We match on mowing, fertilization and weed control, aeration and overseeding, leaf removal, mulch and cleanups. Providers often do more, so ask them.

How do I stop getting texts?

Reply STOP to any message and it ends immediately. You can also email us and we will remove your record entirely.
